Pharmacological Function:

As an irreversible selective type B monoamine oxidase (MAO-B) inhibitor, selegiline hydrochloride is a medication for the treatment of Parkinsone's disease. MAO-B is the main MAO in human brain, which serves as degradation or dopamine (DA) that has an intimate relationshi with Parkinson's disease. When selegiline hydrochloride is combined with MAO-B, it can inhibit the activation of MAO-B and prevent DA being degraded. By this way, it can increase the amount and enhance the power of DA in human brain, which can improve the symptoms of Parkinson's disease effectively. It also can extend the function time of DA by inhibiting the reuptake of it.

Long-term experiment and study show selegiline hydrochloride dose not cause cancer or deformity.
